Juna Downs track, Pilbara region

Juna Downs track in the Hamersley Ranges

This photo shows the typical scenery in the Hamersley ranges in West Australia's North West Pilbara region. At this time of year, the landscape was very green, despite already being quite hot (30 degree+), and provided a few mud sections to test us. This photo was taken on 16th August 1998.

Millstream Western Australia

Millstream, North West of West Australia

This photo was taken on 16th August 1998 on a trip up to the Pilbara region of the North West of Western Australia. Millstream contains crystal clear water, and is a lovely place to camp and swim (and escape the 50 degree heat!)

Lake Johnson Convoy!

Our Lake Johnson Convoy

This photo shows our convoy: my Cruiser, and 3 Pajero's, on our way through the bush in the Lake Johnson Region of Western Australia. This is very scenic country, but can be quite muddy in winter, as we soon discovered!

Our campsite by Lake Johnson

Camping by the side of Lake Johnson

This was our campsite by the very scenic Lake Johnson. ALthough we were setup for wet weather, it was a clear night, and it didn't rain untill we were packed up and on our way the next day!

Lunchtime at the side of the Harvey Dam

A nice spot for lunch!

A nice spot to stop for lunch, on the banks of the Harvey Dam during winter. It was cold and muddy, but very scenic!

Nice scenery at Harvey

The green forest at Harvey

This is what most of the scenery is like at Harvey in Western Australia's south west, during winter. Despite being cold and muddy, the forrest has dense greenery, lots of flowing streams, and abundant wildlife.

Detour track near Lake Jasper

Dwayne's Pajero near lake Jasper

We happened to be on the Lake jasper tracks just after a tree had fallen, blocking the main track, so we had to take this new bypass track.

Cruiser on a log bridge at Lake Jasper

Alan's cruiser on a log bridge

Alan's 80 series cruiser on a log bridge near Lake Jasper, in the south west of West Australia. This bridge is only rated to 5 tonne, but someone has modified the sign to say 5 Toyotas - I dont think so!

The sandy beach of Lake Jasper

A nice in-land fresh water beach

The is the beautiful beach on the north side of Lake Jasper, in the D'Entrecasteaux national park, about 400k south of Perth, Western Australia.

Hilux near Wedge Island

Tony's Hilux on the beach near Wedge Island

This is a nice photo of Tony doing the Lancelin to Wedge island beach run, which is very scenic, but can be very boggy and difficult to traverse at times.

A cruiser having a close call with a washaway

Close call for a Cruiser

A washaway could have ended in disaster for this Cruiser if the bank had of given way. Luckily the clay soil was very firm and held up long enough to pass.

Tony's Pathfinder & Dingy South of Exmouth

Tony's Pathfinder in the middle of nowhere

This photo was taken somewhere between Exmouth and Coral Bay, about 1300K north of Perth, Western Australia. Although it looks like he is trying to launch a boat in the middle of the desert, he is actually only a few km's from the beach!

Alan's Landcruiser on a dune near Warren River

Alan's Landcruiser on a sand dune

The view from the top of the dunes in the Warren national park are very nice. You can usually see the Warren river mouth, and the wild ocean breakers meeting in a whirlpool of white water.

Mark's Lada near Warren River

Mark's Lada on a sand dune

Another view from the top of the dunes in the Warren national park. This photo was taken in the same spot as the photo of Alan's Landruiser, but many years earlier.

Alan's FJ55 cruiser at Wedge Island
