This trip was called at short notice by Pete and I, as we were very keen to see if all the recent rainfall had made mud, on any of the tracks in the Moore River state forest. Wow, we sure were not disappointed! We visited one of the most notorious tracks, known to be impassable due to mud in winter, and as the first 25 photos show, the track certainly lived up to it's reputation. We only managed to get a few hundred meters along this muddy stretch, which was basically underwater, before we ran into trouble. At one stage, we had 3 out of our 4 vehicles bogged, placing the 4th vehicle (Tony) under considerable stress! But Tony's mighty Nissan patrol did not let the team down, recovering first one vehicle, then onto the next, and the next (me!). After that, we headed for the Moore river banks (river crossings 3 & 4 from night nav course) for a very pleasant picnic. Then we re ran most of the night nav circuit (in reverse) taking in the mighty hill climbs, before arvo tea at base camp. A very nice day indeed. Enjoy the pics.....Skip :-) ...scroll down...
