Moore River - Xmas Hangi - 24 Nov2001

The 4WD club (and a few members of the Nissan owner's club) put on their end-of-year bash, in the forest along the banks of the Moore River. The highlight of the event, was a huge "hangi" feast, authentically prepared by Styx - our very own Ex-Kiwi! Well done Styx! But the highlight for the kids was a huge bouncy castle, supplied by Ed Sault, who runs a business hiring out bouncy castles, jukeboxes, karaoke machines etc (call him on 0419 936 121 to book one!). This was a great weekend. Many thanks to all of the participants of this gig, all 60 of you!

It took 4 of us to lift and lower the food in. Styx very bravely balances on a plank above the scorching metal.

Hessian bags were soaked in the river overnight, then used to drape over the pit, to help steam it up, and keep the dirt out.

Finally, the pit is covered completely with dirt, to seal in all the steam, and hence "pressure cook" it.
