Time to update my 4WD.
How about a nice new Toyota Hilux SR5 Turbo Diesel?
A
Nice White one, like the one pictured to the right
----> |
Oh
what a feeling!
Reasons for choosing
this vehicle:
- A bit taller & stronger than my Rodeo, so more
suitable for driving off road.
- More power and torque from Toyota's new 3
litre turbo diesel engine, in fact 315Nm of torque compared to the
Rodeo's 225. Quite a lot more!
- Like the Rodeo, it is recognised as a commercial vehicle, so is
tax
effective.
- The Toyota has more after market 4WD accessories available
than Rodeo.
- The Toyota has more ground clearance than
the Rodeo.
- Toyota's reputation for strength, reliability,
and resale value.
- The SR5 model come with full electrics:
Power windows, mirrors, & central locking.
- The SR5 also has a decent stereo: 3 in 1,
CD, tape and AM/FM radio.
- The SR5 also come standard with 15"
mag wheels & side steps (see top picture)
On Road
cost with air: ~$44000 inc gst (after fleet discount)
This price was
quoted by the team at Kalamunda Toyota. So far, the guys there have looked
after me very well. Let's see how much they offer me for a tradein on the
Rodeo...
