Sunday: Given that Tonka's Clutch had seized, and there was no-one in Wyndham that could help, we headed for Kununurra. Being a Sunday, no workshops were open, so we setup camp in the Hidden Valley caravan park, and had a swim and a relaxing evening. |
Monday: |
Holden said that the earliest they could look at Tonka was Friday, and then it could be a further 5 days for parts to arrive, then a couple of days to fit the clutch kit. So given our limited time, this was not an option. |
We then phoned the Holden dealer in Broome, and got the same story, so that was effectively the end of our trip, and we were forced to drive the car non-stop to Perth, skipping the other spots we wanted to visit, like Millstream, Mt Augustus, Lake Argyle etc.. |
So we hit the
road from Kununarra at about 9am and drove non-stop to Perth, over 3200k
in 36 hours, with a seized clutch, and dicky starter motor. We paused for
a 3 hour sleep in the car just passed Port Hedland. |
