A common washout on the Kidson track. See how deep it is? 1495.jpg (90.8KB) |
The bulk of the track is in good nick, so we sat on 90kph, and nearly got caught a few times by these washouts! 1496.jpg (64.5KB) |
We bumped into two incredible international travellers, Denis and Tanja, who are walking across australia from west to east. 1497.jpg (74.2KB) |
The 7 camels carry all their gear. This journey is going to take them 2 years! Visit their web site at www.denis-katzer.com 1498.jpg (57.9KB) |
At the end of the Kidson track we headed north on bitumen to Port Smith caravan park, for our first shower in 6 days. | Low tide at Port Smith lagoon. My car amoungst the mangroves here, and would be underwater if left for another 6 hours! 1499.jpg (78.8KB) |
The tide can be up to 8 meters here. This is where the locals launch their boats from. Very muddy and risky! 1500.jpg (116KB) |
Although there are meant to be bities here (sharks) I could not resist a quick swim in the crystal clear water! 1501.jpg (49.5KB) |
Cam had no pics from this day.
