Alan's web pageHello and welcome to my Web pages! Please feel free to browse through these pages, and feel free to email me if you have any questions or feedback.I was born in '64, and live in the Northern suburbs of Perth, Western Australia. I have been a keen computer enthusiast for as long as I can remember, (for those of you around my vintage, you may remember this computer... I started off with a Tandy TRS80 with 4Kb RAM!). In 1993 I established a small computer business specialising in providing hardware and software to small business. I ran this company, known as PPS, for 29 years, selling it in 2022. I remain in the I.T. industry doing contract work. I am a Four Wheel Drive enthusiast... I am passionate about 4WD'ing, touring and camping, and I liked to spend my spare time pursuing my hobby, and managing my 4WD web sites. I have had many 4WDs over the last 20+ years, of various types and brands. My "nickname" in 4WD circles is "Skip", so whenever you read about Skip, well, that's me! Do you want to know how I got my nickname? Click here to go to Skip's 4x4 web site where you can read about all my 4WDs, view tens of thousands of photos from my adventures, and browse lots of other articles relating to 4WDing. In
2014, I met Juan. As she had spent her whole life in a big city in
China, she was very keen to explore new places, experience dramatic
scenery, and try camping to enjoy the tranquillity of a campfire in the
outback, with a sky full of stars. We fell in love, and upon arriving
in Australia, we hooked up the camper trailer and kayaks, and embarked
on several 4WD / camping trips. In 2015 she became my wife, and the
rest is history. There are plenty of photos of our trips both on this
web page, and also my Skips4x4
page. Outspoken - My new pages where I explain my opinion about various issues, topics, problems, etc. Oh, and here's a photo of my last Labrador, Benson,
who I gave away to a new family on 5 Jun 2008, due to his need to have
more yard spare, and more attention than I could provide. He now lives
a great 5 acre property down south in Waroona, and I try to visit him
once or twice a year. He was a terrific dog, very obedient, patient,
and loving. He was a typical Labrador, being terrific with kids, and
inhaling his food in a split second! Dam I miss him! Update: Benson
developed an agressive cancer in his leg, and had to be put down late
2012 <sniffle>. He was 12 years old. The number of
